Recent communication from Governor Baker’s Office and from UMass Lowell Officials indicates that the disposition of the 34-acre, long-vacant UMass Lowell West Campus located at 255 Princeton Street may take place this year. The redevelopment of this property would have a significant impact upon the community, especially for the adjoining neighborhood.
The goal/task for the Committee is to conduct a community visioning/planning process for the future use of the parcel. The Committee would be assisted by the Town’s professional staff in the engineering and community development offices. The Committee would hold public hearings and present a report at a Board of Selectmen meeting by the end of this fiscal year.
If you are interested in serving on the UMass Lowell West Campus Planning Committee, please submit an application no later than 4:00 pm on March 22nd.
